Visiting or relocating to the UAE has now become easier than before - you can simply apply for a visa without worrying about looking for a sponsor. As of October 3rd, 2022, the country has introduced new visa groups and a visa updating system. 

This write-up offers a rundown of the new visa categories.

Golden Visa

This is a 10-year residence visa that can be offered to you if you are an investor, entrepreneur, scientist, humanitarian personnel, or frontline worker. With this visa, you can sponsor yourself. 

Some additional perks of the Golden Residence Visa are -

• It can be renewed every 10 years.
• If you stay outside the UAE during the visa tenure, your visa will not get nullified. 
• You can also apply for residence for family members including your spouse and children without any age cap.
• You can sponsor domestic helpers without worrying about the maximum cap. 
• When completing the UAE Golden Visa application process, you get a special multiple-entry visa that is valid for 6 months to come and complete the process.

Residence Visa

As per the new announcement by the UAE Cabinet, you do not need a sponsor for remote work residence (1-year visa), retirement residence (5-year visa), and real estate owners’ residence (2-year visa) visas. 

Green Visa

You can now apply for a 5-year Green Visa without being required to find a sponsor. This is particularly applicable to freelancers, investors and partners, and skilled employees. 

5-Year Multiple Entry Tourist Visa

Another visa that does not require a sponsor is the 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa. For this, however, you would have to provide a UAE-valid health insurance copy during your stay in the country. Along with this, you would need to present a copy of your bank statement reflecting a minimum balance of AED 14,692 or equivalent currencies for the last 6 months.

Visit Visa for Visiting Friends and Relatives in the UAE

If you are planning to visit a relative or a friend, you wouldn’t have to face the requirement for a local sponsor for the Visit Visa any longer. 

Visit Visa to Look for Business Opportunities in the UAE

Another visa classification that doesn’t require a local sponsor anymore is Visit Visa for Exploring Business Opportunities in the UAE. You do not need a UAE-based organisation or an individual to sponsor you for this visa.

Jobseeker Visa

Looking for a job opportunity in the UAE has also become easy now, as you no longer need to look for a sponsor to apply for a 2-month, 3-month, or 4-month job seeker visa.
