Understanding UAE Fuel Prices in 2026
The UAE stopped subsidising fuel back in September 2015 and switched to a system that follows the global oil market. Since then, the UAE fuel rate has been reviewed at the end of every month and a fresh price is set for the month ahead. When crude oil goes up around the world, the pump price here usually goes up too and when it eases, the price comes back down.
2026 has been a busy year at the pump. Prices dipped early in the year, then climbed sharply from April onwards as global oil markets came under pressure. The fuel charges in UAE you see today are noticeably higher than the UAE petrol price 2025 levels many drivers got used to last year, so it's worth checking the rate at the start of each month rather than assuming it has stayed put.
Fuel Prices in UAE Today
UAE fuel prices today are exactly the same as everywhere else in the country, because the UAE works on one national price for all emirates. The table below shows what you'll pay at the pump this month.These prices came into effect on 1 June 2026 and they hold until the committee announces the next set on 1 July 2026.

Current Petrol Prices in UAE
There are three grades of petrol on offer and the fuel price today UAE depends on which one your car takes —
- E-Plus 91 – AED 3.76 a litre. The cheapest grade, fine for older cars and basic engines.
- Special 95 – AED 3.83 a litre. The most common choice and what most cars sold here are built to run on.
- Super 98 – AED 3.95 a litre. A higher-octane grade for performance and luxury engines.
If you're not sure which to use, your car's fuel cap or owner's manual will tell you. There's no need to pay for a higher grade than the maker recommends. When you compare the fuel in UAE price across the three grades, the gap between them is only a few fils, but it adds up over a full tank.
Diesel Price in UAE Today
The diesel price in UAE is AED 4.33 a litre this month. Unlike petrol, diesel actually came down in June, dropping from AED 4.69 in May, which is welcome news for anyone running a pickup, SUV or delivery vehicle. Diesel is priced separately from petrol and doesn't always move in the same direction, so it's worth watching on its own.

Here's a quick UAE fuel price comparison so you can see how this month stacks up against last month. After four months of rises, prices came down across the board in July — every petrol grade and diesel is cheaper —

So the fuel rate in UAE today is lower than it was in June. If you mostly fill up with Special 95, you're paying about 54 fils less per litre, which works out to roughly AED 27 saved on a 50-litre tank. UAE fuel rate today will stay at these levels until the start of next month.
Are Fuel Prices the Same Across the UAE?
Yes. The price of UAE fuel is identical to the price in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. One national committee sets a single rate for the whole country, so a litre of Special 95 costs the same at ADNOC, ENOC and EPPCO no matter which emirate you fill up in. Where you stop for fuel is about convenience, not cost.

When do UAE fuel prices change?
On the 1st of every month. The UAE Fuel Price Committee reviews global oil prices at the end of each month and publishes the new rate a day or two before it takes effect.
Why did the fuel rate UAE go up this month?
Because global crude oil prices rose. The UAE links pump prices to the international market, so when oil climbs worldwide, the local rate follows.
