The rules for cabin baggage are different from those for checked-in luggage. You must ensure that the cabin baggage fits in one of the overhead bins or beneath the seat in front of you.

The allowance for the same will vary as per the route, class of travel, and the Skywards membership tier. The maximum allowed carry-on size is 55 cm x 38 cm x 20 cm.

Emirates Airlines Visa Services

Online applications and payments are now accepted for visas from nationals of countries that need prearranged visas for the UAE. If you are flying to or stopping over in Dubai with Emirates, you may apply for a UAE visa online and obtain it without being required to send in your passport to be stamped. After buying your tickets on Emirates, you can apply for your UAE visa using the "Manage your booking" feature on the official Emirates Airlines website.

To make the UAE visa application process convenient, Emirates has partnered with VFS Global for their visa services. VFS Global is a commercial company that provides assistance to individuals and travel partners applying for visas to enter the UAE and travel on Emirates Airlines.

Only travellers with a confirmed Emirates booking — one where a ticket for an Emirates flight has already been issued and the desired time in Dubai is specified on the flight itinerary — are eligible for this service. Similarly, flights into and out of Dubai must be on the same ticket (PNR) and must be operated by Emirates.

It is necessary to submit an online application at least 4 international working days before arriving in Dubai, although the airline advises doing so at the earliest.

If you have a family member or close relative who lives in the UAE, they can apply for a visa on your behalf at any of the Emirates ticketing offices in the UAE. Please keep in mind that this service is only available to UAE residents.
