And to stay one step ahead in its services, DNI provides a smooth, convenient, fast and streamlined health insurance claim process.
As you walk through the article, you will know more about the DNI health insurance claim process and other aspects.
DNI provides two types of claims - Direct Billing and Reimbursement Claims. Let's understand how both types of claims differ from each other -
Direct Billing Claims: The process in which your healthcare provider directly bills DNI for medical services rendered to you or the insured, rather than paying upfront to the medical facility. Direct billing benefits the insured and provider by reducing the financial burden and simplifying the payment process.
Reimbursement Claims: In this type of claim, the insured pays for medical services out-of-pocket and then submits a claim to the DNI for the expenses incurred during the medical treatment. The medical facility provides the insured with an itemised receipt that includes the date and cost of the services received, which they can submit to DNI for reimbursement.
DNI Health Insurance Claims Procedure
Without further ado, let's look at the procedure of health insurance claims in the UAE -
1. Direct Claims
Keep the following pointers in mind for settling DNI direct billing claims -
Visit the empanelled hospital for a hassle-free claim process.
Ensure you visit the medical facility with the required documents, including your DNI health insurance card.
Inform the concerned insurer within a stipulated time frame.
It is essential to provide accurate information to the insurance provider to avoid denial of the claim.
The direct claim shall be settled in accordance with the terms and conditions of your health insurance policy. The excess amount shall be payable by the policyholder.
In case your claim is denied for any reason, the denial sheet shall be sent to you.
2. Reimbursement Claims
You can submit the reimbursement claim form and the required documents via the official websites or applications of NEXTCARE, NSA, and MED Net. Given below are the detailed steps for submitting the DNI insurance claims -

The claim form must be filled out accurately to be submitted for reimbursement. Here's what you need to do:

Medical Record - Ask your doctor to write a brief report about your condition and confirm that your medication is medically recommended.
Information of your healthcare providers, including the addresses of all the facilities where you received treatment, including diagnostic labs.
Collect all the relevant invoices of medical bills and enter the bill number under 'Medical Bill Number'. Remember to include the dates of treatment and the associated bill number.
If you add a service to the form, briefly describe it and explain what it entails, including doctor visits, prescription medication, hospital stays, etc.
Once you have added all of the services on the health insurance claim form, count the total. Specify the original currency in which the payment was made.
Documents Required While Submitting NEXTCARE health insurance claim in the UAE -
Invoices with dates and paid stamps.
Valid prescription of medicines or drugs
Diagnostic test reports, like x-ray reports, laboratory reports and more.
A discharge summary stamped and signed by the treating facility is required for inpatient hospitalisation cases.
Things to consider when Filling out the DNI Medical Insurance Reimbursement Form
Ensure that all the information on the form is accurate, complete, and matches the medical record. This includes the patient name, date of birth, policy number, diagnosis codes, and treatment dates.
Verify that the medical treatment received is covered under the policy and that any deductibles or co-pays have been paid.
File the claim within the designated period outlined in the policy. Late claims may not be processed, resulting in claim denial.
To avoid repeating the submission procedure, ensure you have everything on hand and in order. Even the slightest mistake in the form or missing papers might result in the rejection of the claim. If medical invoices are not written in English or Arabic, get them translated by a public translator before you submit them.
Sign and date the claim form, and provide any other required signatures, such as the doctor's signature.
To Wrap Up
You can submit your DNI health insurance claim in a few clicks if all the proper steps are taken and the requisite documents and receipts are submitted. However, it is vital to read your policy and check if you are eligible to get reimbursement for the treatment, ensuring that your DNI health insurance claim process settles without a hitch.
