This type of visa is granted to travellers upon their arrival to their country of destination. Individuals are not required to obtain a visa beforehand here, as the entire documentation process, including the payment for the visa, is done once the travellers reach their destination country.

Which Countries Offer Visa On Arrival for UAE Residents? 

Here is the list of the major visa on arrival countries for UAE residents and other related information – 

1. Georgia

You can explore the beauty of Georgia by visiting its marvellous waterfalls, mountains, canyons, lakes, and deserts. The country is ideal for those having a knack for camping and hiking. On top of that, individuals can also explore exquisite delicacies over there like Khachapuri and more. 

Visa Requirements to Enter Georgia: As Georgia is one of the visa on arrival countries for UAE residents, travellers can visit the country without any hassle. Georgia also allows UAE ex-pats to enter the country if they have a valid residence permit. Individuals from the UAE visiting Georgia may stay in the country for up to one year. 

To obtain a visa on arrival, travellers must have the following documents – 

  • Passport: The passport must have a validity of at least 6 months from the date of application
  • Photograph: A coloured passport-sized photograph would be required
  • Visa application form: The form must be filled out and signed correctly 

2. Maldives

The Maldives is widely cited as a paradise for all beach people, with the country offering excellent scuba-diving facilities, exciting water sports, and much more. It is one of the perfect getaways if you want to take a break from your routine.

Visa Requirements to Enter Maldives: Using the visa on arrival for UAE residents, travellers from the emirates can stay in the country for up to 30 days.

To secure this visa, travellers would be required to present the following documents – 

  • A valid travel document, such as your flight ticket
  • Valid passport: In case your passport gets expired within 30 days of your arrival in the Maldives, you will be unable to extend your stay in the country

3. Nepal

If you love to explore the vibrant cultures of different countries, don’t forget to include Nepal in your checklist! Its ancient architecture, tradition, hospitality, and cuisine certainly make it a popular option among tourists.

Visa Requirements to Enter Nepal: To obtain the visa on arrival, UAE citizens must fill out an online application for the visa available on the official Nepal Immigration website (nepaliport.immigration.gov.np). Once you submit the visa application form, take a printout and carry it to the Embassy of Nepal along with the following documents – 

  • Valid original passport and its photocopy: Make sure your passport would be valid for 6 months from the date of arrival to UAE from Nepal
  • A valid copy of your UAE resident visa
  • A No Objection Letter (NOC) from your current employer if you are employed in the UAE

4. Seychelles

Seychelles has some of the most notable beaches and wildlife in the world. It is also famous for its lush vegetation and is a notable scuba diving destination. The country also has two UNESCO sites, namely, Aldabra Atoll and Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve. 

Visa Requirements to Enter Seychelles: Seychelles also allows access to visa on arrival to UAE citizens, and travellers can obtain the visa once they reach the country after presenting a few documents like – 

  • Detailed information on flight tickets from UAE to Seychelles and back
  • Detailed information concerning accommodation in Seychelles
  • Proof of availability of sufficient funds during the stay in Seychelles

Note: With this visa, individuals can stay in the country for up to 30 days. To extend their stay, individuals can contact the Department of Immigration. The extension can be done up to 1 year in 3-month increments.

5. Armenia

Armenia, the world’s first Christian country, is widely visited by tourists to explore its rich landscapes, mountains, beautiful monasteries, and churches. Additionally, the country is renowned for its Tatev monastery as well as the ropeway for reaching it, which runs for an astonishing 5.7km and is the world’s “longest non-stop double track cable car” as per Guinness World Records.

Visa Requirements to Enter Armenia: Travellers from the UAE coming to Armenia for tourism and a stay in the country for up to 180 days can do so without a visa. Others, who need a visa to enter the country, do not have to specifically apply for a tourist visa. Upon reaching Armenia, Emiratis can apply for e-visa for Armenia via the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

6. Montenegro

Montenegro is considered a must-visit country by several tourists, with the country featuring several attractions like the deepest canyon in Europe, one of the longest sand beaches in Europe, four UNESCO sites, and more. 

Visa Requirements to Enter Montenegro: A tourist visa is not required for UAE citizens. Visa on arrival for UAE residents allows them to stay in Montenegro for up to 90 days. A valid travel document and identity proof are required to carry out the visa application process.

  • Ensure that your passport has blank visa pages

7. Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, having the second largest Shia Muslim population after Iran, is also reportedly the first Muslim country to establish operas and theatres. The country has several magnificent medieval palaces and temples to explore. 

Visa Requirements to Enter Azerbaijan:  While travellers from the UAE can get visa on arrival in Azerbaijan, they are usually recommended to apply for an e-visa through evisa.com.az 2-3 days prior to their arrival in the country. The application process for the same is rather convenient and swift, which saves the tourists from long queues. 

The following are the requirements to apply for a visa to Azerbaijan – 

  • Valid original passport
  • Scanned copy of passport: Make sure you have a digital copy of your passport as you would need to upload it during the visa application process  
  • Visa fee payment: At the end of the process, you would be required to pay a fee for the service. The payment can be either made through a credit or debit card.  
  • Valid email address: Remember to provide a valid email ID, as you will receive the e-visa on the registered email ID. Ensure that it is accessible to you all the time.
