• You need to log in to the app/website by creating an ID for the username and also a password on the Drive Smart app or the RTA website.
• After logging in, you need to choose the Licensing Services option.
• Then you need to choose the “more” link in the My Vehicles tab.
• After that, a form appears. You need to enter the information that is required in their respective fields.
• Use your credit card for fee payment.
• Once the process is complete, you shall obtain the RTA ownership certificate through your email.

• Choose online services on the self-service machines
• Click on the service you need to use.

You can now apply for your UAE vehicle registration certificate using the call centers as well. Here are the steps for completing this process –

• Call 8009090 and request the service to get a certificate for ownership of cars.
• Pay the required fees through your credit card.
• Get your certificate of ownership certificate through email.

The fees you need to pay for an RTA vehicle ownership certificate are: 

• For the certificate: AED 100
• For innovation and knowledge: AED 20

Terms and conditions

For getting an RTA certificate for ownership of a vehicle, ensure that you have gone through the terms and conditions before registration.

• There is no timeline for the validity of this service
• The owner of the vehicle or her/his in-person legal representation must be present at the places mentioned
• While purchasing a second-hand car in the UAE, you must first clear all other violations per UAE laws on the car before applying for the vehicle registration certificate on the car. Make sure you have cleared all the Salik, RTA and UAE Police fines for any violation in parking.
