Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, recently made an announcement regarding the unveiling of the smart city expo Dubai. The Dubai Expo 2020 will be refurbished into Dubai expo city soon.
The transformation will include an exhibition centre, a museum, the headquarters of numerous companies, and residential areas. The UAE Vice President stated that "after the historical success of Expo 2020 Dubai, visited by more than 24 million visitors, left a mark in the 170-year history of world expositions, today we announce the transformation of the exhibition site into expo city Dubai, a new city that represents the ambitions of Dubai."
He also added that the smart city expo Dubai will have a Vision Pavilion and a Women's Pavilion as well. Among these two, the Women's Pavilion will depict female pioneers of the globe, whereas the Vision Pavilion will focus on the vision of the honourable Ruler of Dubai. However, there will be no modifications to the Sustainability Pavilion, the Mobility Pavilion, and the Terra.
Besides sumptuous architecture and paintings, the expo city Dubai is also committed to achieving the utmost level of greenery across the area. As per reports, the concerned authorities have banned the complete use of plastic as a step towards an ecological Dubai expo city. Similar care will be shown towards infrastructure, as the framework of all the buildings will be based on sustainable construction.
As mentioned earlier, the smart city expo Dubai is expected to attract a plethora of businesses to establish their headquarters there. It is widely being cited as a great opportunity for those who are looking forward to accomplishing sustainable targets.
Apart from these, the expo city Dubai also has provisions for entertainment and leisure like eatery joints, shopping malls, entertainment sites, sporting and adventure amenities, and more. Notably, the Garden in the Sky observation tower, the Surreal water feature, and the Al Wasl Plaza, the three most visited tourist attractions of the Dubai expo 2020, will remain as they are without any major modifications expected.
Another great feature was announced by Reem Al Hashimy, the Minister of State of International Co-operation and Managing Director of Expo Dubai 2020, who announced that the smart city expo Dubai will not have any opening or closing times. Consequently, unlike before, visitors can now visit the place at any time without any time restrictions.
