Simply fill in the complaint form and submit your appeal along with the evidence. You will get the dispute reference number. Within 30 business days, you will receive the status (rejected/approved) via SMS. If approved, the fine will be cancelled.

You can also dispute Dubai police traffic fines online through the following mode —  

  • Visit the official Dubai Public Prosecution website – http://www.dxbpp.gov.ae/
  • On the homepage, choose the ‘Request to Object a Traffic Fine’ option  
  • Provide your personal details — 
    • Full name (as per the passport)
    • Whether you are a UAE resident or visitor
    • Email address
    • Nationality
    • Date of birth
  • Select the type of traffic fine from the drop-down menu
  • Next, enter your driving licence number as well as vehicle details —
    • Plate number
    • Code
    • Source
    • Type
  • Enter the traffic fine details, including the file number and date
  • Mention your address details — 
    • Emirate

    • Building name
    • Villa or apartment number 
  • Provide your registered contact number — you will get a confirmation text before proceeding with the request
  • Describe the traffic violation*

    • The traffic violation has not been contested before any other authority 
    • The fine should not have been paid yet

  • Visit the General Directorate of Traffic’s headquarters in Al Barsha and request to file a complaint 
  • You can also head to your nearest Dubai Police station to make a complaint
  • You can consider raising a traffic fine complaint by calling +971 4 606 3555 — note that you should still have a written complaint after that. 
  • Alternatively, you can contact the Deira Traffic Police at 04 - 6063555 (opposite Terminal 2) or the Barsha Traffic Department at 04 - 3111154 for further details

Note: There is a fee to open an RTA fine dispute. If you win, you will get a refund. If you lose, pay the traffic fine along with the dispute cost. This amount depends on the penalties that have been issued.
