RAK Police to Impose a Fine of AED 500 for Driving With an Expired Licence Plate
Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Police have released an informational video to remind vehicle owners about the penalties that they would have to pay in case they don’t renew their vehicle licence plate on time. As per the video, the vehicle licence plate should be renewed within the first 40 days (grace period) of the licence expiry date. In case a vehicle owner fails to do so, they will have to pay a fine of AED 500 and have 4 black points added to their driving licence.
If they fail to renew their licence plate within 14 days of their first fine, another fine will be imposed. If the licence plate is not renewed even after 90 days, the vehicle will be seized by RAK police for 7 days straight.
