Who Can Appeal for a Failed RTA Road Test?

If you fail to pass the road test for the following categories — light vehicle, heavy bus, heavy vehicle, and light bus — you are eligible to apply for an appeal for a failed RTA road test. Note that you can apply for this service within 14 days of the road test results.

Reasons to File an RTA Road Test Appeal

Filing for an RTA road test appeal promotes fairness and transparency during the evaluation process. It gives you the chance to review your test, especially if you believe the error was due to misjudgment. By appealing, you can save yourself from unnecessary additional training sessions or retests.

All in all, this process not only protects your right as a learner driver but also strengthens trust in the system.

How to File an RTA Road Test Appeal?

Here is how you can file an appeal for a failed RTA road test —

  • Step1- Log into the RTA website. If you are an existing user, log in using the UAE Pass, Emirates ID, or passport number. As a new customer, you need to create an account by clicking ‘Register as Individual’.
  • Step2- Once you enter your account, click on the ‘Apply for Appealing a Road Test Result’ tab.
  • Step3- Check the result in detail on the website — immediate fails and minor faults.
  • Step4- Select the results that you find incorrect and enter your feedback. Note that this can also include complaints related to the examiner’s behaviour.
  • Step5- Enter the refund details (bank account or IBAN).
  • Step6- Pay the required charges.
  • Step7- Submit the appeal. You will get a reference number and confirmation via email.
  • Step8- You can get the results within 5 business days by email with a link to find the details.
  • Step9- If the appeal is approved, the test results are changed. In this case, you will receive a refund of the appeal fees to your registered bank account or IBAN.
  • Step10- If the appeal gets rejected, you complete the training and retake the road test.

Note – The whole filing of the appeal process takes up to 5 minutes.
