- Guidelines for Cancer Diagnosis and Treatments in UAE
These guidelines primarily attribute the recent suggestions for early detections, treatments, essential tests and examinations for cancer cases by comprehending the latest research and technologies. The newly launched regulations will efficiently contribute to relevant assistance for healthcare experts in providing efficient treatment. Additionally, these will help in making better decisions to increase recovery rates and quality lifestyles of patients.
A team of cancer specialists and professionals curated these guidelines at a training workshop, which was organized in Dubai. The training program was conducted in association with AstraZeneca. Several healthcare experts attended the workshop, including Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, assistant undersecretary for the Public Health Sector, and Dr. Buthaina Bin Belaila, head of the Non-Communicable Disease Department.
Based on the discussions regarding the guidelines released for cancer awareness, treatment, and diagnosis, in the workshop, Dr. Al Rand stated, “They equip individuals and healthcare professionals with reliable and comprehensive information. We are committed to advancing medical research and development, offering innovative solutions to address contemporary and future health challenges. We will forge strong partnerships with healthcare and community institutions to promote better health and disease prevention.”
In addition to this, Dr. Belaila mentioned that the ministry’s constant effort in revising the scientific guidelines aims to align cancer diagnosis and treatment with international standards involving the latest research and technologies. All these significant steps are taken by highly experienced cancer specialists, researchers, and professionals.
She also stated, “The workshop's objective was to familiarise participants with the updated evidence and its practical implementation. It aimed to enhance early detection services by adopting updated scientific methodologies. Additionally, the workshop sought to guide patients and community members on how to prevent breast, cervical, and colon cancers. It also focused on encouraging adherence to treatment plans and promoting a healthy lifestyle.”
