MedNet Claim Process

MedNet Insurance simplifies the reimbursement claim process by offering an online submission system. For a smooth process, please follow these steps —

Steps for MedNet Direct Billing Process

With the Direct Billing system, MedNet members can receive medical services without immediate out-of-pocket expenses at network providers. Here's how it works:

  1. Present Your MedNet Card: When visiting a healthcare provider within the network, show your valid MedNet Health Card along with a photo ID at the reception

  2. Treatment and Documentation: After your consultation or treatment, the healthcare provider will complete a claim form detailing the services rendered

  3. Payment of Applicable Fees: You are responsible for any co-payments, deductibles, or charges for non-covered services as specified in your policy

  4. Provider Billing: The healthcare provider submits the claim directly to the TPA for settlement

Steps for MedNet Reimbursement Claim

If you receive medical services outside the MedNet network or need to pay upfront for any reason, you can file a reimbursement claim.

For this, follow these steps —

  1. Access the Online Portal: Visit MedNet's reimbursement submission page

  2. Complete the Online Form: Enter all the required personal and treatment details.

  3. Upload Supporting Documents: Attach the collected documents in the specified formats.
  4. Submit the Claim: After reviewing your information, submit the claim through the portal.
  5. Reimbursement: Once approved, the reimbursement will be processed according to your policy's terms and conditions

Documents Required for the MedNet Claim Process

When you submit the reimbursement form, you will have to provide the following documents to MedNet UAE —

  1. Detailed Medical Report: These reports should clearly state the diagnosis, the date when the disease was first observed, any past occurrences of the same disease, details of previous and current treatments including prescribed medications, investigations undertaken, and the prognosis
  2. Original Itemised Invoices/Receipts: Submit the original invoices or receipts for the claimed amount — note that these receipts must show the cost per individual service
  3. Diagnostic Test Results: Provide copies of the results from any diagnostic tests that were performed
  4. Referral Letter: If physiotherapy was prescribed, a referral letter from the treating physician is required
  5. Valid Prescription: A valid prescription from the treating physician for any prescribed medication is necessary
  6. Discharge Summary/Operative Notes: In case of hospitalisation or surgery, submit the discharge summary or operative notes
  7. Police Report/Firsthand Information Report: In case of claims related to accidents, a police report or firsthand information report is required

Submission Guidelines for MedNet Claim

  1. Timely Submission: Submit your claim within 60 days from the treatment date for services within the UAE and 90 days for treatments outside the UAE
  2. Online Submission: Use MedNet’s online portal to submit your claims so that all required documents are included

Processing Timeline of MedNet Claim

  1. Complete Claims: Claims with all necessary documents are processed within 7 working days from the date of receipt
  2. Incomplete Claims: If documents are missing or information is insufficient, the TPA will notify you within 2 working days
    1. In this case, you then get 30 days to provide the required information

For more detailed information and to access the online submission portal, please visit MedNet’s official website.

How to Track the Status of Your Reimbursement Claim?

Mednet Insurance assigns a Unique Claims Reference Number (UCRN) to each claim submitted by a policyholder. The UCRN plays a crucial role in the management of your claim, facilitating smooth interactions between you and the TPA’s claims team.

When your claim is registered with the TPA, the UCRN is automatically sent to you via email. This unique identification number is your key to tracking the status of your claim - from the moment it is submitted until its final resolution. Whether your claim is in the process of review, approval, or settlement, you can utilise this number to monitor its progress at every stage.

You can visit the official website of Mednet Insurance, go to the ‘track your claim’ section, enter the UCRN number and captcha, and submit the form. The status of your reimbursement claim form will appear on the screen.
