E Care Blue keeps things simple. It covers the most important medical services like doctor visits, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, emergency care, and even maternity and chronic condition management (depending on the plan).

Outpatient services are offered mainly through clinics, while inpatient services are available at selected hospitals. The goal is to give members quality care, lower costs, and smoother approvals, all through a direct billing system that reduces paperwork and delays.

How to Use Your E Care Blue Card?

Whether you have a physical E Care Blue card or a virtual one, you can get access to medical services within the approved network — without the need to pay upfront for covered treatments.

Here’s how to use it — 

  1. Check if the provider is in-network: Use the E Care website or call the helpline to confirm if the clinic or hospital accepts Blue Network coverage.
  2. Book an appointment directly: Contact the clinic or hospital and inform them you’re covered under the E Care Blue Network.
  3. Present your E Care Blue card (physical or virtual): At the reception, show your card and a valid Emirates ID. If you're using a virtual card, you can access it through the E Care portal or app.
  4. Pay any required co-payment: Depending on your plan, a small co-pay may apply for consultations, diagnostics, or medication. This will be clearly mentioned by the provider.
  5. Let the clinic handle the approval: For procedures or specialist care, the clinic will request prior approval from E Care if needed. You don’t have to manage this step.

Reimbursement Process for Out-of-Network Services With E Care Blue Plan

Sometimes, you may need to seek medical care outside the Blue Network. This is especially in case of emergencies, unavailability of services, or when you're outside the country. In these cases, you can still get your money back through E Care’s reimbursement process — as long as your treatment is covered under your policy.

  1. Pay for the treatment at the clinic or hospital: Make sure to collect detailed invoices and payment receipts for all services.
  2. Download and fill out the Reimbursement Claim Form
    • You can get this from ecaretpa.com or request it via email.
    • Complete all sections clearly. A physician's stamp and signature are mandatory.
  3. Attach the required documents: These may include:
    • Itemised bills
    • Medical reports and prescriptions
    • Proof of payment
    • Insurance card copy
    • Lab/radiology reports
    • Discharge summary (for inpatient cases)
    • Specialist referrals (for physio/chiro)
    • Police report (for accident cases, if covered)
  4. Send your documents to E Care: Email all documents to: rc@ecaretpa.com. Use your name and card number as the subject line.
  5. Track your claim: Once submitted, you’ll receive a reference number. Use it for any follow-ups.

FAQs About E Care Blue

Can I use E Care Blue outside the UAE?

E Care Blue plans are primarily designed for use within the UAE. However, some plans include inpatient coverage in selected countries (mainly ISC & SEA regions, excluding countries like Japan, Singapore, and China). This is usually on a reimbursement basis and requires prior approval.

Is maternity covered if I’m already pregnant when applying?

If you’re pregnant at the time of application, it must be clearly declared in the medical form. Coverage is then subject to medical underwriting. Undeclared pregnancies will not be covered during the policy period.

Are newborn babies automatically added to the E Care Blue plan?

Babies born to insured mothers are covered under the mother’s card for the first 30 days after birth. After that, the baby must be officially added to the policy, subject to underwriting.

Is dental and optical care included in E Care Blue plans?

Routine dental and optical care is not fully covered under most E Care Blue plans. However, cash discounts are available at selected clinics. Emergency dental and vision care (such as injury or sudden vision loss) is covered.

What if I need to see a specialist directly in the E Care Blue plan?
