A Sigh of Relief: Motorists Can Get E-Card in Just 2 Clicks!

How many times have you panicked when you realised while driving on a main road that you might have forgotten your driving licence at home? Twice, thrice, or more? Well, this worry now comes to an end as you can now access the digital version of your driving licence.

Dubai’s Road and Transportation Authority (RTA) has issued a reminder for the residents that they can add their driving licences’ digital copies to their Apple wallet. This is suggested to be a good way to back up the driving licences in case they leave their card at home or workplace.

Here is how you can add your driving licence to this iPhone feature -

• First, download and open the RTA application.
• If you are using the application for the first time, set up your account and link all your traffic files including the driving licence or the vehicle licence to the app.
• At the end of the home page, you will find 5 icons. Here, click on “My Docs”.
• Once done, open the “My Licence” tab, where you will find the electronic version of your driving licence card.
• Click on the “Add to Apple Wallet” tab. You will then be able to find the licence in the e-wallet.

You can use this feature even for adding your vehicle licence to the e-wallet. However, remember that you need to be an Apple user for this facility.
