Emirates Islamic Bank Credit Cards enable cardholders to fulfill their financial needs and repay for the same later.

Emirates Islamic Bank offers a wide range of credit cards with cashback and discount benefits. Credit cards offer various loyalty and reward programs. Along with all the excellent benefits and features, Emirates Islamic Bank comes with efficient ways of making credit card payments for cardholders.

In this post, we will take you through various quick and easy ways of making Emirates Islamic Bank Credit Card payments online and offline.

Emirates Islamic Bank Credit Card Payment through UAEFTS

UAEFTS is a popular financial RTGS platform operated by the Central Bank of the UAE. Various banking customers can make easy fund transfers, card payments, and loan repayments using this platform. The platform is known for simple transactions made from one bank to another.

Most banks and other financial institutions in the UAE allow their credit card members to make credit card payments through UAEFTS. UAEFTS has multiple exchange houses at various locations in the UAE. The best part is that if the cardholders are unable to visit their concerned bank’s branch to pay their credit card bills, they can visit the nearest exchange house to make their credit card bill payments without any hassle.

Advantages of Using UAEFTS for Emirates Islamic Bank Credit Card Bill Payment

Here is a list of advantages cardholders get when making their Emirates Islamic Bank credit card payments through UAEFTS.

  • Available in Multiple Currencies: UAEFTS enables credit card members to make their card payments in their preferred currency, transgressing the national barriers.
  • Easy Bill Payments: UAEFTS allows cardholders to visit any of the exchange houses and make their credit card payments. They need not visit the bank’s branch to pay their bills.
  • Worldwide Availability: The cardholders can make their credit card payments using UAEFTS from any location across the globe.
  • Flexibility: The cardholders with their bank accounts in a different bank can also make easy payments through UAEFTS. However, they may have to pay some additional charges for the service.
  • Real-Time Notifications: Both the payer and the payee get real-time notifications for the bill payments processed via UAEFTS. This helps them keep track of their transactions and other financial activities.

Disadvantages of Using UAEFTS for Emirates Islamic Bank Credit Card Bill Payment

With all the advantages, credit card payments through UAEFTS also come with a few disadvantages.

  • Extra Charges: The cardholders need to pay additional charges for availing of credit card payment facilities through UAEFTS. The platform charges this additional fee for accepting payments on behalf of other financial institutions. Thus, cardholders end up paying more than their credit card bill amount.
  • Processing Time: UAEFTS helps cardholders process their credit card payments in real-time. However, it takes up to two business days for the payments to reflect in the system.
  • Additional Charges for Split Payments: In case the cardholders make a partial payment and want to pay the remaining balance later, they need to pay an additional fee with every single part of the credit card bill payment.
  • Allocated Exchange Houses: With UAEFTS, there are exchange houses allocated to banks. So not all the exchange houses accept credit card bill payments for all banks in the UAE. The cardholders need to contact their bank to locate an exchange house that accepts their credit card payment on behalf of the specific bank.

Paying your credit card bills in full and on time can help you maintain a good credit Score. That is why most cardholders activate auto-payment services in their bank accounts. The auto-pay service helps them make Emirates Islamic Credit card payments every month on scheduled time and date.

Let’s say the cardholder has an account in Emirates Islamic bank. They can simply call the bank to set up auto payments for their credit card bill payments. On the other hand, if they own an external bank account, they can add their Emirates Islamic Bank credit card as a beneficiary and set up auto payments.

The Emirates Islamic Bank credit cardholders can also link their Emirates Islamic Bank account with their credit card using Emirates Islamic Bank mobile app or internet banking portal.

Emirates Islamic Bank Credit Card Payment from Other Bank’s Internet Banking Portal

Emirates Islamic Bank Credit Card members can easily pay their bills even if they have a bank account in any other bank.

If cardholders don’t own an Emirates Islamic Bank account, they can make Emirates Islamic Bank credit card payments online by logging into the other bank’s online banking portal. All they need to do is add the credit card number as a beneficiary account number and transfer the funds to make the payment. Here is how they can do the same.

  1. Login to Internet Banking: First, the cardholder needs to log in to an external bank’s online banking portal using the provided credentials.
  2. Add the Credit Card Number: As already mentioned, the cardholders then need to add their Emirates Islamic Bank credit card number to the list of beneficiaries.
  3. Enter the Emirates Islamic Bank Details: Next, the cardholder needs to provide the Emirates Islamic Bank account and credit card details to proceed with the process.
  4. Specify the Amount: On the next window, the cardmember needs to specify the credit card bill amount that needs to be paid from that third-party bank account.

  6. Click on the ‘Submit’ Button: Once done, they need to click on the ‘Submit’ button to complete the payment.

The external bank account payment doesn’t get facilitated by Emirates Islamic Bank, so the bank will not be held responsible in case of any errors or late fees.

Making Emirates Islamic Bank Credit Card Payment through Phone Wallet

Most banks and other financial institutions in the UAE allow their customers to carry out their daily transactions using phone wallet applications. Credit card members can also use these apps to make easy and quick bill payments.

Here is a list of phone wallets available in the UAE.

  • Samsung Pay
  • Google Pay
  • PayBy
  • Apple Pay
  • E-Wallet
  • Emirates Digital Wallet LLC and Klip

Phone wallet apps are next-generation payment platforms to help cardholders make cross-banking payments. The cardholders can use their preferred phone wallet through their desktop, laptop or smartphone to make easy credit card bill payments.

Making Emirates Islamic Bank Credit Card Bill Payment from Other Bank’s Credit Card

Emirates Islamic Bank does not allow cardholders to use other bank’s credit cards to make direct bill payments. However, they can still opt for indirect bill payment options such as balance transfer, cash loans, etc.

  • Cash Loan: If a cardholder has a credit card with a cash loan facility activated, they can use the same to borrow cash from their bank and then use this cash to make Emirates Islamic Bank Credit Card payment.

To use this service, they first need to contact their bank, apply for the cash loan against their available credit limit and set up a schedule for the repayment. Once the request gets approved, the cardholder can go to that bank’s ATM and withdraw the borrowed amount. They can then deposit the borrowed cash in the Emirates Islamic Bank cash deposit machine to make the credit card payment.

  • Balance Transfer: Most credit cards in the UAE offer balance transfer services for cardholders. With this service, the cardholders can transfer their other bank’s credit card outstanding balance to one bank’s credit card and then convert the same in monthly installments to make easy repayments.

If the cardholder has one of the balance transfer credit cards, they can contact their bank to activate the service. Once done, they can then transfer their Emirates Islamic Bank credit card outstanding balance to the other credit card and clear out the billing amount. The only thing that the cardholder needs to do is provide the Emirates Islamic Bank credit card details and the outstanding balance amount they need to transfer. They must keep in mind that the banks also charge additional interest for using a balance transfer facility.

However, it is not recommended to use this method as it doesn’t clear out your debts and instead adds interest to them. With a balance transfer service, all you can do is shift your debt from one credit card to another one and buy some time to repay the credits. And if you don’t pay the consolidated bills on time, it can bring down your credit score.
