The UAE is a renowned place to visit and live for numerous reasons. One of the popular emirates of this country is Sharjah, which is an attractive place to live due to its low rents as well as easy access to other emirates.

When you come to Sharjah to stay in a studio or flat, you would be required to register with Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA). The SEWA registration is necessary to get access to utilities such as water, electricity, and gas, regardless of where the apartment is located. To continue the utilisation of these utilities, you would also need to pay the SEWA bills on time.

What is SEWA in Sharjah?

While the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority was earlier owned by a private company, it was later merged into the UAE Electricity & Water Department and named Sharjah Electricity, Water & Gas Authority (SEWA).

SEWA is a government agency responsible for providing utilities such as gas, electricity, and water in the Sharjah emirate of the UAE. SEWA has several offices throughout Sharjah and numerous customer care centres to cater to the needs of its customers. It has also made access to services like SEWA bill enquiries, payment of bills, profile updates, and customer account cancellations via the SEWA e-portal.
